Our mission is to reduce systemic harm through integrating lived experience and human rights in all aspects of mental health care.
We aim to model a space rooted in informed consent, agency, and acceptance of alternative perspectives and healing. We acknowledge the diversity of lived experience and lived experience persons and work to increase recognition of this diversity. Above all, we believe that all humans are humans regardless of experience, education, or status and thus must be seen, heard, and accepted equally.
Our team is comprised of individuals with lived experience who come from a variety of backgrounds, training, and interests including but not limited to research, public health and policy, peer support, and advocacy. Our team impacts the direction of EPI-CAL through integration of lived experience persons in leadership, research, and administrative capacities. We are involved in projects across EPI-CAL from developing trainings to participating in leadership and decision-making processes.
